Pro class BMX riders practice on the track Friday at Sarasota BMX. The Sunshine State Nationals are being held in Sarasota through Sunday. The annual races in Sarasota attract professional riders as the Sarasota BMX track is one of only nine in the country that are considered a "super track" which includes an Olympic-size starting hill. Races include something for everyone with classes men and women, from "5 and under" to "61 plus", and skill levels from noice to pro. More than 800 riders from 11 countries and 39 states are registered for the races this weekend. The races, at 17th St. and Tuttle Ave., are free for spectators, parking is $10.
